So after the purchase of the Wall Street Journal by Murdoch and Company, we’ve seen some interesting changes happen in the company. First off, the started expanding and plan to offer content like the Reuturs/Ap does. Now they are allowing traffic from Digg to enter for free!
Although surprising, it’s actually kind of interesting. Digg has a lot more users than WSJ.com has.

The Journal is actually doing better in keeping it close for now, rather than just opening up the walls completely. Since it will slowly, but surely start to generate more traffic to their site, just as it happens to the Washington Post and NTTimes through Digg. The reason: sneezers!
Seth Godin coined the term perfectly. Sneezer, in this case Digg users(early adopters) go to the site and share their findings. Diggers are going to rapidly become aware of the wjs. After a while these sneezers will start sharing and spreading the ideavirus of what the Journal is to offline friends.
After traffic surges(if it does), opening up to early and late majority will make it mainstream as the NYtimes is now. And perhaps it will give them time to redesign their website to a more Web 2.0 look.
