comScore is reporting that NYTimes.com has gained 7.5 million reader since August. Just more proof that being open pays. Subscriptions are a thing of the past thanks to really good advertising networks. Now once again I plead the WSJ.com to open their walls and do a facelift for their sites (so last bubble). Sending email to customers about their “Personal Personal” pages is not really something to brag about. Do we need another “homepage” site that only works with walled content?
The other big win here is conversational sites like Digg, TechCrunch (and NYTimes….sort of) versus the traditional monologue sites. These just keep growing faster than the rest.
