Firefox 3 beta 2 for Mac : Web form rendering

Since I switched to a Mac, a couple of years back, I noticed that Firefox was rather slow and a complete memory hog in OS X.

That seems to be a thing of the past when the new Firefox 3 beta 2 arrived. Not only does it have a more Mac-like GUI, but it really flies. I like apps to spring into action once you click on their icon on the dock. Thanks to it’s reduced memory print, I’ve stopped using Camino as my alternate browser (Safari is my default one).

Another important details is web form rendering. Firefox 3 renders web forms and buttons to seem more Aqua-like as Safari does. The gui details are still rough around the edges but still a huge improvement from FF2. Notice below the web form comparison.

Although this is a Firefox post, it is nice to notice how the nice things about Safari as it’s use of a blue highlight to attract the user’s attention to the task at hand(Mozilla are you listening). The new buttons are good Mac citizens, something that is very important as web apps try to become more desktop-like.
