WSJ.com:
The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped sharply Friday, finishing February on a gloomy note, after Dell reported a decline in quarterly profit and said it saw corporate customers spending less.
Why should the whole tech sector bleed, because Dell can’t innovate? Now Dell pisses me even more!

Dell to the tech sector: “My bad!”
Blogshphere Bashers
A blogger named M.B. Darden wrote an article about his first experience at an Apple Store. The interesting thing is his follow up article where he comments on people’s comments(insults). I don’t advocate this kind of behavior at all, but I have to hand it to this really weird anonymous coward’s comment:
your light gray font [...]
“Publications” and their “sources”
I don’t need any sources to predict just that, isn’t it obvious:
It’s possible that Apple will introduce a version of the iPhone software developers kit (SDK) next week which is far from complete, according to claims by SetteB.IT.
Citing their own sources, the overseas publication said it believes only a beta version of the SDK [...]
The vain side of Web 2.0
True geeks don’t read Variety or Maxim. They turn to Vallewag for their gossip: “interesting” piece on Marrissa Mayer. I actually saw her up close in Google’s Seattle Scalability Conference last year. She spoke about scaling Google for every user(very interesting):
P.S: I am the guy in the red shirt….shit you not….lol
Free Diner on Sun’s tab
How much more can you give a developers/IT to make them do a Solaris OS course:
Get certified for half the regular price through March 31, 2008 — you save nearly $1,500! Plus, you’ll receive $100 in dining gift certificates with your purchase, valid at thousands of popular restaurants around the country.
iPhone: Apple trojan 2.0
Ars Technica is reporting that on March 6th Apple will hold a press conference where they will announce the “iPhone Software Roadmap”:
learn about the iPhone software roadmap, including the iPhone SDK and some exciting new enterprise features.
Wow, look at Apple sounding so enterprisy with words like “Roadmap”. So it’s pretty much set(as I said before) [...]
Imaginary performance boosts
Brent Simmons:
I bet every software developer has seen this—release a new version, even one you know to be slower, and some people will thank you for the performance boost.
Perception is a bitch and people do buy into the numbers game. 1.14 > 1.1.3 thus faster.
I guess that’s why Microsoft doesn’t use numbers that much (2000, [...]
iPhone and iPod touch eye candy
Nice roundup of iPhone/touch wallpapers.
My favorite is Poolga.com which has really cool modern web art.
P.S. Helvetica is elegant. I should use it more often.

iPhone firmware 1.1.4 but no SDK
On Sunday night I said we should expect the the SDK but no consumer update. I got it….but completely opposite.
So next time I make a prediction….believe the contrary.
But trust me… the SDK won’t come out without Steve presenting it. It’s his baby!

Holy Crap! iTunes Now Number Two Music Retailer in the US
Apple:
The iTunes Store — now with over 50 million customers — has sold over four billion songs. In fact, it sold an incredible 20 million songs on Christmas Day 2007 alone.
Now they only need to convince the some 50+ million more iPod owners on paying for something they are getting for free(by stealing that is…duh!).
