New MacBook and MacBook Pros: No exterior change!

Apple today released an update for their Macbooks and MacBook Pro laptops. The MBP now include MultiTouch trackpads and a very nice set of hardware upgrades like 200 GB standard HD.
My only concern is the MacBook Pro’s casing which hasn’t changed much since the G4 PowerBook. It sucks that I have owned three Apple laptops [...]

Network Solutions and ICANN sued…well deserved!

Someone had to do it. Registrars can’t go around locking up domains after people check their availability. They should least post a disclaimer if they want to be sleazy. I’ve talked about bad hosting/registars before.

My Guess: SDK on Tuesday, but NO Consumer Update

The end of February is imminent and most importantly iPhone update is right around the corner(or delayed a couple of weeks). So instead of repeating what every one is saying, let me list a couple of things we should expect.

DataPortability Logo Competition

After receiving a cease and diciest letter from Red Hat’s Fedora project for having similar infinity logos, they are turning nasty lawyer stuff into a contest. I contacted Chris, the organizer in hope to donate some prizes. I truly believe in the project and support the contest because it will bring even more awareness to [...]

Microsoft To Play Nice With Open-Source?

The words Microsoft and Open Source usually leave a bad taste in my mouth after I say them in the same sentence. Hopefully that will change with Ray Ozzie’s new Microsoft pledge:
Microsoft is providing a covenant not to sue open source developers for development or non-commercial distribution of implementations of these protocols. These developers will [...]

Why are umbrellas so hard to innovate?

Finding an innovative umbrella is harder than you can imagine. Usually you get useless Sharper Image stuff that the inventors wouldn’t even use:

Can’t someone do for umbrellas what Dyson did for vacuum cleaners? They make me want to buy one every time I see them!

Mozilla Messaging: Inbox 5.0….hopefully

I use Mail.app everyday for my five email accounts and can only say bad things about it. It crashes a lot(even more since 10.5.2), it’s clumsy and doesn’t really help with organization. In 2004 Gmail innovated with their easy to use simple approach, but has not done much for multiple email accounts(some support, but no [...]
