The WordPress development blog has posted more pics and info on the revamped interface and development. So far it looks great and can’t wait to get in on my blog. Hopefully there won’t be any interoperability issues with the themes and plugins.

The software is basically done and stable, and could be released today, but we’d like to incorporate feedback from a wider audience before making it available to the general public. After a few days of your feedback we’ll set a final release date.
I just downloaded the 2.5 beta release on my computer and had no noticeable issues running it. The admin interface is not just better, it’s superior. I really like some of the new additional sections like the tags, Media Library and the redesigned Manage.
Even for experienced users, the old WordPress admin was very counterintuitive. That just changed with tons of AJAX goodies and a complete re-org.
