Funny: Social Networkig Wars

This video is based on a true story:

Twitter and friendfeed are missing!

Facebook chat and the death of structured data

Many have complained about the facebook chat, while other think it’s just awesome(couldn’t find a link for this post…lol). I don’t really care much about it to feel strongly either way, but do think there might be some serious consequences down the road.
The whole purpose of a social network is to keep in touch [...]

Unlike Facebook’s iPhone site, here is one you won’t see in a commercial soon

Playboy.com’s iPhone website just launched. Judging by the screenshot it’s more of a guy’s portal than a pr0n site.
Missing: Sports scores(hopefully Colombian Soccer) and games!

Facebook Spanish Version NO upload Button

Facebook’s recently released Spanish version has no upload button in the pictures albums. Probably a bug or something, but interesting that it hasn’t been fixed.
English:

Spanish:

The order of the buttons should be: Cancel, Select All, Deselect All and Upload. Notice how the spanish version cuts off the last visible button and completely forgets the last functional [...]

Facebook used agaist Terrorist: “NO MAS FARC”

It all started as a student creating a Facebook group in Barranquilla, Colombia which surpassed the 260,000 members within a couple of days. Today in more than 27 Colombian cities and [...]

Advertise Responsibly: Facebook Ad Platform

People tend to compare Facebook to Microsoft since both are very closed platform, rather than Google which new slogan is sort of “we’re open”(since the “don’t be evil” kind of went hay wire). Build it…and they will build it!!!

The buzz word for the second half of 2007 is: PLATFORM! Anything that wants to create some buzz has to have ‘platform’ in it somehow. Web 2.0 entrepreneurs went from doing simple apps that leveraged new programing techniques and the social graphs, to full blown Microsoft-killing conspiracy theories! Startups are realizing the true potential of [...]

Desktop Collaboration

The web has evolved. It has matured.
Web frameworks are now a commodity and ajax went from being a cool novelty to simply standard. This is all good since developers can now focus on what really matters: “desktop collaboration”. Social networks focus on collaborating with others. That’s great and all, but now we need web apps [...]

Google vs. Facebook: Birth of Web 3.0

So last week it was all Apple. This week it’s all Google. Word of the new OpenSocial platform is starting to spread. It is interesting to see how Google sticks to their “algorithm” strategy (it killed Jeeves!). Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg once said that he considered his site to be one of the top news sites [...]

Marketer’s Paradise via Facebook?

If you though Adsense from Google was relevant since it’s based on your search results, think again! Lets say I want to target people with some of these parameters like age group, political views, location, university, profession, etc…What if there was a system which specifically knew this…well there’s Facebook. Facebook basically has all the information [...]
